D and J

Last Saturday evening, Dave and Jolene hosted a birthday party for Jolene and Dalene's dad. We had a wonderful dinner and lots of laughs. Ray got a couple of nice gifts and a good time was had by all. Dalene had spent some time in DC this past month and found me a new wind up toy. It's a space shuttle that runs about and every so often the hatch opens and an astronaut pops out. Kinda fun. I can't seem to find any new ones when I go places, but fortunately I have a few kids in my life who manage to do so. I have a pretty large collection of these things, maybe I'll post some others later.

The Blue Angels

Dad was invited to go to the Museum of Flight to see the departure of the Blue Angels before they leave on their practice runs. It's really quite a sight and an operation. Fun stuff.

You can always tell when I'm short of blog pictures. I seem to resort to pictures around the Point. This fountain is quite lovely, we enjoy passing past it as we return to the compound. =) Dad picked up the basket for me this past week as a little surprise. I hadn't planned on buying one this year, as it was getting sort of late in the summer. I'm glad he did, it's very nice.

Last Sunday, Dave, Jolene and Polly all came by for a salmon dinner. Dave and Dad are doing the cooking, the girls are waiting to eat. I must be the one taking the pictures!
