More Ireland

Our tour took us around the Ring of Kerry. This is me in front of Dingle Bay. The scenery is outstanding. I had a bit of trouble staying awake. The warm sun and the rhythm of the bus kept putting me to sleep. I felt better about it when I found out that others were having the same problem.
Went to a pub for dinner and this young lady showed us her Irish dancing skills. I don't know how their legs stand it.

April 17th, 1949

David, Jr. asked me once, what my favorite birthday's were. The first was my 40th, when Dave, Sr. gave me a surprise party, but the other was this one. I was nine and my birthday fell on Easter Sunday. My dad thought this was a pretty big deal. So, we went shopping together for a complete outfit. My aunt Florence made the dress, but we picked out and bought the shoes, socks, coat and hat. It was quite an event and I've never forgotten it. Those are ribbons hanging from my braids, not price tags hanging from the hat.

more of my past

Do you think we bought this coat with growth in mind?

Friday night visitors

Polly and the east coast portion of her family stopped by last night. We had a great time!
What was really nice is that they brought dinner. How fun is that!

Another break from Ireland

Cheryl and Ed. The older they get the better they look. Must be something in the east coast air.

Our B and B in Killarney

This tour arranged for us to stay at several B and B's. It's a very nice way to get to know the Irish on a more personal level. There was a large field next door where cows grazed. They'd come up to the dinning room window and check things out. I think they just wanted to be sure we weren't eating beef.

Killarney National Park

This is one place we could have spent a lot more time. We had beautiful weather the whole time we were there. Everything was in bloom. We were blessed.

A little break from Ireland

My nephew, Mike, got married a week or so ago. Have you ever seen two happier kids or cuter ones for that matter. I don't think so! Congratulations guys! AN and UD

Windy!

Cliffs of Moher - Another view

The Cliffs of Moher

This place is stunning. The drop to the sea is 650 feet. They have recently put up some stone barricades to keep people from walking out to the edge. It's windy up there and people were getting blown off. Then there are always folks who think it's a great place to commit suicide.

We went to a medieval dinner our first night in Ireland. Much fun, music and good food. These people have beautiful voices. They had just two instruments to accompany them, but because of their voices and harmonies it sounded like much more.
We're looking pretty human, even after hours of flying.

The area around the Bunratty castle and our hotel had lots to do including shopping.
The area around the hotel had lots of things to see and do and places to eat and shop. It was very much like a tiny village.

We've been in Ireland for the past couple of weeks. We had a wonderful time, loved Ireland and the Irish. We had absolutely georgeous weather, sun and warm, until the last day on the way to the airport. Not to shabby huh? I'll post some photos the next couple of days.

First night's lodging at Bunratty Hotel.

As you can see we had a wonderful Easter. We are thankful for a risen Lord and this wonderful family.

Paul trying to read with his prescription sunglasses, by candlelight. Quite a chore!

Paul and I being wished a Happy Birthday. Note the HBMW.

Paul doesn't look happy, but I assure you he is.

Couple more Easter photos.

Flags

I have a different flag to fly, from the front of our house, for each month. For April it's Spring! You know bunnies, Easter, flowers and all that sort of stuff. I'll be posting more as the months go by. I bet you can hardly wait.

More spring in Wildtree

You've probably noticed that I'm pretty much a fool for spring in the PNW. Anyway, one of the things that seems to happen annually is a variety of visits from our feathered friends Daphne and Donald. We tear up a slice of bread a day and of course they love it. They come and sit on our lawn and just wait til we appear with our treat.

Nevada Morning

Dave went back to Reno last week end for the funeral of his good friend, Harvey. While driving early one morning he saw this sight. Someone was irrigating their field and the water had frozen over everything. Very pretty.
