Marlene and Carl's Wedding

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we attended Martha's former roommate's wedding about a week ago. The venue for the event was one of the most beautiful we've ever seen. The wedding took place in a grove of Redwood trees, with flowers, bushes and water all about. The venue was called Nestldown near Los Gatos, CA. Perhaps some of these photos can give you a taste of what it's like. Stunning!

Wedding morning.

We got up early and went into town for coffee and something to eat before Martha had to go off and do wedding things. Nice way to start the day.

A little side trip to Santa Cruz

After our little breakfast, Dad, Zach, Augie and I drove to Santa Cruz for a nice walk on the pier. The wedding wasn't until 2 pm, so we decided this was a nice way to spend the morning.

California Trip

We flew to San Francisco this past weekend to attend Martha's former roommate's wedding. She was married in Los Gatos. On the way we stopped at a few spots to look around. The first was Palo Alto and Stanford University. Very lovely spot. This is Dave in front of Hoover Tower. The tower is named after the former president of the United States. He and his wife we very involved here. In the next couple of days I'll post on the actual wedding, which was spectacular. I'm trying to keep this in some sort of order!

You can go up to the top of Hoover tower and look around. This is the room that houses the organ which is used for carillon concerts.

Santa Clara Mission

This mission has been destroyed 4 times from fire, earthquake, etc. This is the 5th mission and none of it is original except perhaps the cross in front of it. It is on the campus of Santa Clara university and is used as their chapel.
