Congress, AZ

Dave has some friends who have a ranch in Congress, AZ. He stood up in their wedding 50 years ago and this is the first time since then that he has seen them. Tina and Erik have a life well suited to them and they enjoy Arizona. Tina was telling us about carrying a 38 for a variety of reasons, but the one I REALLY remember is the fact that rattlesnakes do approach their home at times and she just shots em'. Wow!
There are several graves sites on the ranch. This appears to be a family. There is a lot of history in this part of the country.
Some of the area around the ranch. This was taken during our 4 wheel drive trip. We went about 4 miles in 2 hours. The roads are rugged. Very exciting.

Williams AZ The Grand Canyon Railway

After leaving So. California, we drove to Williams, AZ to spend two nights in the Grand Canyon Railroad Hotel. We took the train to the Canyon and spent a few hours there and then returned. Was a fun trip, with cowboys who sang to us and told jokes. On the way back they put on a train robbery and we saw several elk and antelope. The Canyon, of course, was the highlight. Always beautiful.

I loved this red caboose. I think trains should still have a caboose. They look so incomplete without them.
There are three big horn sheep out on that rock in about the middle of the picture. We sure had a beautiful day.
Which is lovlier, the Grand Canyon, or us. Duh!

After spending the afternoon at the Reagan Library we went down the road a bit and spent the afternoon and evening with Zach's folks. We had a lovely evening, spent the night in their lovely guest room with a super bed! Next morning after a wonderful breakfast we headed off for Arizona. We did a lot of talking and got to know each other better. We've decided we have wonderful kids!

Ronald Reagan Presidential Library

I love Presidential Libraries. I've been to this one and Jimmy Carter's in Atlanta. Very interesting places. You learn so much about so many different things. This is Dave outside the main entrance.
This museum is located in the Simi Valley. It is one of the most beautiful sites I've ever seen.

Holly's wedding in Santa Barbara

Martha's friend Holly was married a week or so ago in Santa Barabara. We were lucky enough to be able to attend. It was a beautiful evening, the ceremony was held at the Santa Barbara court house. She was a beautiful bride. Such a wonderful event.

Lighting

I'm sure all these new house things are boring people to tears, but as busy as we are not all that we do is photo worthy. So, you're stuck with pictures of new lamps.
