Strawberry Planter

As you can see I'm scratching for new photos. We planted the strawberry planter on Saturday. It was a beautiful day for doing anything outside. The picture below is of a deer in our neighbors back yard. His little white tail is all you can see.

April 20th, 2008

We awoke at 6 am and found all this snow falling. Great big flakes and it snowed for about an hour. There are actually blossoms under all that snow on the trees. Now, the sky is blue and the sun is out and you'd almost think Spring is on it's way. I'm not putting my Winter clothes away tho'. =)

Visit to LaConnor, WA

Last Monday we went to LaConnor with our friends Ray and Shirley to see the tulip fields in bloom. It is always a treat, such beauty. It's even more meaningful today, as we had SNOW last night. We woke to snow on the roofs and on the lawns. Goodness it's April 19th! Hmmm
When you vist this place, it's almost a "given" that you will buy flowers. Guess who bought some!
We've gone to LaConnor several times to see this amazing display and it always awes me. Such wonderful color. God is quite the artist.

Unusual gift.

One of the gifts I received for my birthday, was this fun vase. It is plastic. It comes flat, you fill it with water and flowers and there it is! When the flowers are gone, you empty the water, flatten it out and store it in a much smaller space than a regular vase. Fun, huh?

Brithday Celebration

Paul and I have birthdays very close together in April, so the family usually celebrates them together. So, here are the birthday people, looking very spiffy, and the HBMW. We were at The Keg for dinner on Sunday night.

One more from Santa Barbara.......

On our last day in Santa Barbara we just walked all over town and rode buses here and there. We met Zach and Muf for lunch at Joe's. Always tasty. We visited El Presidio and learned a little bit about local history. Always wanted to do that, but never seemed to have the time. Then rode the shuttle down to the waterfront and Chase Palm park. Sat there and reminisced a bit about the wedding. Then got on the carrousel for a ride. Carrousel's are some of my favorite things and I've wanted to ride this one for years! Finally got around to it. All in all we had a great weekend and are so pleased that the Holt's came all the way from Fullerton to be part of it.

Oops!

I forgot to mention the people in the photo below. They are Zach's dad and Martha's dad. =)

Santa Barbara Sunday

On Sunday morning we visted the kids church. They are in a new location. They have merged with another church and it appears to be a perfect fit for all. After church we went out for brunch and then to Zach and Martha's for more coffee and talk. Nice day.

Trip to Santa Barbara

Dave and I flew to Santa Barbara this past weekend to visit Zach and Martha. After they picked us up at the airport we went for lunch and a visit to a winery. Wonderful afternoon. Lots of flowers and sun.
Just a pretty photo of the area around the winery. A very pretty spot.

Holly and Martha waitin' for dinner.

We had a super lamb dinner, prepared by Zach, on our first night in town.
Was very tasty.

Pretty huh?

The Holt's first dinner party for six. Table looks great!

Sleet on the deck

As you can see, I'm really digging for blog pictures. Ah, well. Last evening it did some sleeting and then snowing and we're all sort of tired of it. My daffodils were very confused. Today, however, was lovely. Lots of sun and I think the temperature screeched all the way to 46 degrees. Tomorrow is supposed to be even better. Sure hope so, maybe I'll even find something worthwhile for this blog!
