Ship's kitchen tour

We took a tour of the ship's kitchen. The first photo is napkin folding, the second is a board with color photos of every main dish that will be created on the entire cruise. As you can see from these and the following pics, this is a BIG operation.

Here we have creating bread animals, fruit roses and many many different desserts!

Various cuts of beef.

Our first stop.

Our first stop was an island that is owned by the cruise company. It was a day for the beach. We sat on chairs and watched the world go by. You'll notice that Norm was showing us the way back to Seattle. None of us wanted to go! In the afternoon they had a big Bar B Q for us. Very tasty, the fruit is always amazing. The sand on this beach was incredible. Very white and very soft. Nice start to the trip.

We're on our way.......

We're getting ready to leave the Port. My brother and sister in law sent us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our departure. We invited our friends Gail and Norm over to share it on our verdanda. Lovely!

We begin our adventure......

On March 1st we flew to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where we spent two nights before departing on our Panama Canal cruise. We spent a day just wandering around the city. We took a little cruise on some of the inland waterways in the city. This is one of the oldest homes in Ft.
Lauderdale. They take you past many "large" yachts and many lovely homes. The homes are owned by lots of famous people, as are the yachts. Soooo much money represented here.

Steven Spielberg's new yacht. I believe someone said it cost $200 million dollars.
