Things are coming together. We have our mirror for the entry. Bit by bit things are beginning to look like home.
Finally got our new blinds

View off our walkway

We have had some lovely clear evenings and the moon has been incredible. This isn't a great photo, but it will give you some idea

Martha's brother in law to be, Mike, giving the toast.
Norma and her son in law to be. Thanks, Polly!
I think this is a very nice photo of Zach's grandmother and his dad. Don't you?
We've had dessert, we're pretty happy.
A few of us pose before the festivities begin.

Quick trip to Fullerton, Ca.

Yesterday morning, Dave and I decided to get on an airplane and fly to LAX and then drive to Fullerton to take part in an engagement party. The party was for Zach and Martha, held by Zach's folks in their home. Martha and Zach didn't know we were coming and so were very surprised. It was fun and tho' we are tired today, we are so glad we went. It was a lovely event. Notice the cupcakes, Zach's sister Holli made them and topped them with pansies, which were also edible. So pretty. Thank's to all of Zach's family for a wonderful time. We were back in Washington by 9 am this morning. More photos tomorrow.
Me, Zach, Martha, and Dave smiling for the camera and enjoying the evening.
Martha and Zach listening to a toast to their future.

Working on the new house

Dad getting some lights to work so that we can see what is hanging in our closets.
We're getting a few things hung. There are actually some places that look like home.
We have a new buffet in the dinning room. It's really great as I can have all my dishes out of boxes and in "something". I have one set that hasn't been out of a box since 1981.

A few more photos from Santa Barbara

This is the view from the top floor of the Maritime Museum. This is where the wedding reception will be held. They tell us many of these boats will be decorated for Christmas. Should be pretty at night.
I have no idea what has us so interested or where we even were. But whatever it is, it must have been quite a deal.

I'm back!

Martha and her sisters-in-law to be. Heather on the left and Hollie on the right. A little windy up there, huh Muf. I'll have more in the next day or so.
Martha and her mom-in-law to be, Sandie.
Zach's family was in town for the week end as well. We did a lot of looking at a lot of things. We also ate at a lot of places. Great time.

I think Zach just drove by!

On July 28th I flew to Santa Barbara and spent about 5 days with Martha. She met me at the airport with these wonderful roses. We then went to lunch and dress shopping with 3 of her friends. They are Marlene, Karen and Susan. I was soooo glad they were there. Walking into a bridal shop with all those dresses was a bit overwhelming for me. All that to say we were successful in choosing the perfect dress.

We actually moved into the new house on July 26th and 27th. I'm eating a wonderful lunch that was brought to us by some of our friends from church and also our new neighbors. If I haven't mentioned it before, we have moved into a 55 and over community. Many of our friends from church live here. They have been wonderfully supportive and friendly.
